Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
There will always be debate about the exact shade of colours to use, but I would try matching what exists in Trainz already by other creators such as tmz06003, nexusdj and paulsw2.
In terms of blue and grey livery - the grey panel was 44 inches deep (1118mm). The white lining was 1/4 inch (6mm). The lining completely enclosed the grey panel and didn't wrap around the ends of the coach. The window frames were a metallic chrome effect for most of their days in service, but some were painted towards the end. The chrome effect would be the typical condition.
I'm not sure I can directly link to the images on railcar.co.uk, but there are 3,644 images of class 101s there. Start at page 179 for the trailer cars, e.g.

Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
Hi JB - these are the values for BR Blue and Grey I used for class 108, 116, 117 and 121:
BLUE:
R 0.0
G 67.0
B 76.0
html 00434c
GREY:
R 69.0
G 69.4
B 66.7
html b0b1aa
As stovepipe suggested, good if we can standardise.

Thanks stovepipe for the information. I'll standardize with those colors, Paul. Can I get the colors for yellow, as well as the roof grey and buffer red?

Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
I couldn't contain my excitement. I just decided to try and import the bogies, attachments, and everything for one of the cars in trainz, and it worked, and other than a few artifacts, the textures were spot on! Here are some of the images. (note. this is the old one without the proper colors or other changes stovepipe suggested):

So now I will go back to blender, finishing this and the other sets, and then the interiors.

I've added to the originally posted colours above because I was at a loss as to where RGB colours come from with decimal places?
RGB colour values range from 0-255
# Indeed it would.
Maybe a sticky Global thread for things like this? Not just colours used but a whole host of other things that are standardised on UK railways as well?

Here's what I've been using JB:JBVector wrote:Thanks stovepipe for the information. I'll standardize with those colors, Paul. Can I get the colors for yellow, as well as the roof grey and buffer red?
YELLOW:
R 216
G 148
B 14
ROOF (med-grey)
R 35
G 35
B 35
James is right - should be whole numbers between 0 and 255. For some reason, GIMP presents them as decimals!
The pics look fantastic, but shouldn't there be footboards underneath each door? (their absence from Mike10's Mk1 coaches I think has always been quite glaring.)

Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
Thanks, James and Paul. There are alot of things that still need to be added, including footboards, and this was primarily a test import. This week I will be focusing on the interior, after I finish the final variants (There isn't terribly much to show, so no update until next week probably). But I just got accepted into TRS22 steam beta, so I'll be spending more time testing MPS, and TRS22 itself until the 31st when the beta build expires. Tomorrow is my birthday BTW.

That's very odd. I've only used GIMP briefly but I had no idea it did that.
I'm a long-time Paint Shop Pro guy (v5, v6, v9, 2018) and have been since 1998, and it always shows the RGB values as whole numbers.

I hear Spinal Tap's rider specifies RGB values out of eleven.james73 wrote:Hi Paul.paulsw2 wrote:James is right - should be whole numbers between 0 and 255. For some reason, GIMP presents them as decimals!

Re: Class 101 (And others) Project Thread.
Just to keep you guys updated, last week was very busy for me, and I don't want to post an update until I have done sufficient work, so I'll post my next update whenever I feel I've done enough work. Hopefully, this month will be even more productive.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Incredible work and such a massive step forward from the faithful, though ageing, models which have served us until now.
