Signal Prefix Codes

While working on a route edit of LMR South 1960’s (Twilight of steam) V2.1, I have discovered that all the color light signals that have prefix codes next to them only say “sig 4a” or another default value. In the Kings Road area of the route, where the West London Line (WLL), East London Line (ELL), and London Underground District Line travel through, only the ELL and WLL have color light signals. If I’m correct, the prefix code for Kings Road Signal Box would be KD on the signals. However, I can’t seem to understand the meaning behind the 2 or 3 digit numbers below the prefix code. I have named all signals from Kings Road station to the border with Wemberly, right when the WLL has catenary wires above from KD 001 to KD 007. I don’t know if I’m correct with naming the signals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, and have a good one.

If it's any use to you, signal numbering usually works with evens on the Up line and odds on the Down line, though there are exceptions. I may have a signal map of Kings Cross if you can specify what area you need in fairly simple terms as I'm not familiar with the place names around there.

Huh, today I learned. I assumed there was some sort of logic to it, but never knew what it was. In game, I generally just go with random numbers and hope nobody examines them too closely!

I could use Excel to create a random number list of 3-digit values for the signal numbers. I would then decide which numbers to choose.

I'll make sure to use even numbers on the Up Lines and odd numbers on the Down Lines.

Hello everyone. I appreciate the resources and information, but I believe that all the stations on LMR South 1960's (Twilight of steam) V2.1 by glen1974 are fictional UK railway station names that don't replicate actual real-life signal box diagrams. Is it okay if I can post some screenshots from the route?
