Armstrong Whitworth D9

Post by Domsarto »

Just browsing the internet and came across a drawing for the Armstrong Whitworth D9, which I believe is the fore runner of all diesel locomotives on Br Rails. It was the test piece at the time Br were considering the big shift to diesel. I find myself in the position of been suprised that this bit of history is not available in trainz.
Anybody any toughts on this.

This is interesting as I'd not heard of it before. Was it really the forerunner? Perhaps as a diesel electric with axle hung traction motors? It was only in service between July 1933 and June 1934, so it's pretty niche, but I'd like it!
