Class 465
A little project I've kept hush, hush for a while but I feel I'm at a stage in which I can announce it, I'm currently creating a Class 465. I was originally waiting for WEN to finish his networker but I don't think that's going to happen so I decided to make one of my own. Despite the screenshots appearances I've still a lot of work to do, the project has been moved from the main GMAX erecting hall, now to the paint and electrical shops. I still need to add the aircon module on the roof and modify the ends so the taper in a bit. The skin I have currently used is a heavily modified form of the Thames Trains Class 166 skin, but I do plan on changing that as soon as I attain some decent photos of a Class 465.
This is my first ever train to ever have made it to this stage. I'll be using this thread to ask for help and post updates on how this project is progressing.

That looks superb klambert! Are you, by any chance, making a 466 to go with this?

Re: Class 465
Ok I need some help with applying El Davos Lightup Script, I have all the necessary attachment points and I've included the coronas in the string table, how do I go about assembling the script?

ElDavos lightup is a simple copy paste job - there are full and detailed instructions with it.klambert wrote:Ok I need some help with applying El Davos Lightup Script, I have all the necessary attachment points and I've included the coronas in the string table, how do I go about assembling the script?
Re: Class 465
Really excited but this but, are you going to do it in NSE? Just that I'm Slade Green and would be handy for my route
Many thanks.

Re: Class 465
Every time I copy and paste the script, turn it into a .gs file, add it as a script in content creator and then commit I keep getting this message: 'Unable to link compiled script class'.JN114 wrote:ElDavos lightup is a simple copy paste job - there are full and detailed instructions with it.klambert wrote:Ok I need some help with applying El Davos Lightup Script, I have all the necessary attachment points and I've included the coronas in the string table, how do I go about assembling the script?

Re: Class 465
Try adding just 1 line to the config but make sure you use the correct capital letters :
If that doesn't work copy the lightup script from my 165 or 166 and then try it with the above entry ?
Code: Select all
script "LightUp"
High visibility pixels must be worn when on or about the line !!

Thanks for the advice.Nexusdj wrote:Try adding just 1 line to the config but make sure you use the correct capital letters :

I have good news and bad news; Good news is I copied the script and then changed the line in the config to say 'LightUp' the error has disappeared.
Bad news is, for some reason, when I view the Unit in Surveyor or Driver the lights still won't show.
If anyone has any suggestions on what to do next, they would be much appreciated, I'm at the end of my tether now, why is it such a seemingly simple process turns out to be annoyingly complicated.
I really hate to sound cheeky and I know I have to learn these things myself, but could a content creator help me out? If I send them the CDP, could they possibly take a look to see what I'm doing wrong? I will of course give credit.

Re: Class 465
Without the script if you have called the corona's correctly in the config file then they will all be lit up when you place the train in surveyor .
If they aren't showing them you may have the corona attachment points facing the wrong way .
Open up the vehicle in Gmax (3ds, blender etc.) and looking at it in the "side view" select each corona attachment point and rotate them 180 degrees .
Export the model and see if that works ?
Before you do that though can you post the config file so that we can see it's set up right ?

Now that's not a bad idea, I'll adjust the attachment points tomorrow evening but in the mean time here's the config:Nexusdj wrote:Without the script if you have called the corona's correctly in the config file then they will all be lit up when you place the train in surveyor .

Re: Class 465
You need to remove the .gs tag from the "LightUp" entry .
Try that to see if the lights work now ?
If not and I'm not 100% sure on this but if you change all the directional tag's to 0 then you may well see your missing lights ?
Though you can't leave it at that as they will be seen through the body side when looking from the rear to the front of the vehicle .
If it works though it will prove that you have the attachment points facing the wrong way .
Remember also that the attachment points need to be on the outside of the body just slightly away from the mesh .
