Logging in every time
Has something changed? I'm now being asked to log in every time I visit the site. I keep checking the "keep me logged in" check box, but it doesn't seem to do anything. A few hours later when I pop in again, I have to enter my details to log in again.

If it's any consolation to you, I've been having the same problem for about 2 years now.

I don't clear my cookies when closing, never have. And I still get it if I just leave the browser open on another site for a while, then come back.clam1952 wrote:Need to not delete the cookies on closing browser.

Re: Logging in every time
Me too. I've even been logged out mid-post if I have to nip off and do something inbetween starting to write and actually posting. I've lost a couple of posts like that. It demands that I log in again and then my post has vanished . Damn annoying.

Re: Logging in every time
When I'm writing a long post (usually to explain how to modify or repair content) I always copy and paste the semi complete post to a notepad file after a few minutes to ensure I don't lose it if I get logged out .

Re: Logging in every time
Perhaps the forum just wants to give you the authentic Trainz experience?
"Oh, hello, welcome back Mr umm, wait, I don't know you anymore. WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT???? Oh blast, now I've dropped all my important documents lying around London. Bear with me while I go hunt them down and move them back to my desk one sheet of paper at a time... Just stay there and I'll... NO, DON'T MOVE!!!! Now I have to start again from the beginning. Oh, hello, welcome back...."
Yeah... T:ANE may be starting to erode what little remains of my sanity

Re: Logging in every time
I have no idea why this is happening. I've not changed any settings on the forum.
Have long have you all had this problem and what browsers are you using?
I use Opera and stay logged in each visit.

Re: Logging in every time
Firefox 75.0 here.
Did a little digging, and I think I got it figured out. I've been going to http://forum.brit... and need to be going to https://forum.brit... seems to be something new with FF, where if it isn't a secure domain it won't keep cookies. Updated my bookmark's URL & it seems to be working!
Little gem I literally just learned. The "Index" link at the top of the page, is to the non-secure url so then immediately logs me out.

Re: Logging in every time
So a little more information. Seems to be a number of links across the site that trigger the non-secure. Can't really find any rhyme or reason for which ones ask me to log in & which remember my cookies. I do think it's more of a thing FF is forcing on us/me rather than an issue with the site.PerRock wrote:Little gem I literally just learned.
