What's the difference please between the 2 type of crossovers that I've recently noticed from watching in-cab videos. The most common ones are the types where the rails just cross over just like the Hornby model railway type but there is another less common one that looks to have moveable blades? Anyone enlighten me? Thanks.

Thanks Dave, I now know that it was the Switched Diamond that I was enquiring about. I was aware of swing-nosed turnouts. Appreciate your help. Gam
